Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge with FCCB! Challenge #95 Mix and Match Use 3 different patterns of paper Winner will receive the Funny Valentine stamp set To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. This week we were challenged to use 3 different pattern papers and at least 1 Cricut cut. This was a bit hard for me, as I don't mix a lot of patterns, I don't feel that I am good at choosing complementary patters. So, to make this a little easier, I chose papers that matched in color more than trying to mix the pattern. The base paper has a text with blue birds. The photo mat paper is blue with a white diamond shape, then the embellishments are yellow and grey and have a light white pattern on them. Then for a pop of color, I used the yellow and green paper flowers, which some of them have a pattern on them as well. I inked the edges of all the papers, and cut the title using the Opposites Attract cartridge. The shapes came from the Disney Cars cartridge, it's the stop sign without the word. Also, you will notice a small grey piece of cardstock tucked behind the photo, this is where I hid my journaling. This project is dedicated to Miss Pam, who was my son, Dallas' daycare teacher for the last two years. It was really sad to leave her, as she is like family, but Dallas had to head off to "big boy school" and go to Kindergarten.

I am slowly catching up on creating and posting my scrapbook pages. This layout is for my 2011 scrapbook. It was the first time that we took Dallas to a movie, we had no choice....Cars 2 was showing. My son has been a Disney Cars fanatic since he was 2 years old. We have almost every character, the bedding, both movies (and Mater's Tall Tales), a backpack, dishes, toothbrush......you get the picture. On a side note...we went yesterday to see Monsters University and there was a preview for a new Disney "Cars" movie called Planes. Dallas was so excited......great, thank you Disney....now I'm sure we will get to buy a bunch of new Planes charters too :)
Anyway, we had a lot of fun, and I am so glad that I thought to take a picture of him in front of the movie poster. Combined with the ticket stubs, it made a great scrapbook page. I also wanted to tell a bit of the story, but I don't like my handwriting, so I created a pocket using the picture and ticket stubs, and it fits nicely. To make the page, I used my Cricut and the Disney Cars cartridge to cut out Lightning McQueen and the Cars logo. I added a sticker "2" to the logo to mimic the Cars 2 logo. Then for the background, I used chalk to create a winding road with grass and a sunset. I love using chalk, it's perfect for those times that you know exactly what you want, but can't find it.
